Welcome to the Southern Garden Tour!

We collectively invite horticulture industry members to embark on a horticultural adventure like no other. Immerse yourself in the beauty of new plants and flowers as we explore some of the most vibrant trial gardens of the Southern region of the United States. Join us on a self-led tour that showcases the performance of new plant varieties in public and private trial gardens.

Get ready to be inspired and amazed by the stunning displays that await you!

Tour Overview

The Southern Garden Tour is a collection of stops at prominent trial gardens throughout the South during the first week of June each year. It is open only to members of the horticulture industry.

 

Participants begin at the industry open house at Young's Plant Farm in Auburn, Alabama. The All-America Selections Summer Summit coincides with the Southern Garden Tour, and begins with a reception at Young's Plant Farm following the open house. Visit the Young's Plant Farm page for more details on both events. 

The next stop on the Southern Garden Tour is the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, where a long-held tradition of plant trials spans more than 30 years. An open house will greet industry visitors on the, but the gardens are open all summer long to visitors.

At the final stop at Metrolina Greenhouses in Huntersville, North Carolina, industry attendees will peruse 3 acres of trials. Metrolina Greenhouses will host an invite-only consumer event for Home Garden Panel members the following day.
